A report from the Major Cities Chiefs Association revealed that 69 agencies across the country recorded decreases in violent crime and homicide rates during the first three months of the year, compared to the same period in 2024.

Nationwide, violent crime – such as robberies, sexual harassment, and aggravated assaults – dropped by an average of 14 percent between January and March 2025.
In addition, homicides declined notably in the Colorado cities of Denver (by 58 percent) and Aurora (by 36 percent).
