This closure of the IP3 will only take place at night, between 9 pm and 6 am, starting on Tuesday, 24 February, and ending on 26 or 27 February, depending on weather conditions.

According to information provided by Infraestruturas de Portugal to that municipality in the Viseu district, the work will involve "necessary works for widening the roadbed, as well as the planned works for widening existing structures, and the construction of retaining walls."

“For safety reasons, starting on 24 February, it will be necessary to remove the shoulders and slow lanes, narrow existing traffic lanes, and limit the speed” between the Tondela Sul and Canas de Santa Maria junctions, restrictions that are expected to last for six months, he added.

To remove the shoulders and slow lanes on this stretch, “prior temporary signage work will be necessary, including the placement of vertical signage, execution of road markings, and the installation of rigid concrete barriers along the road.”

Until the works are completed, traffic on the IP3 will be diverted to National Road 2.
