Approximately 20,000 residence permits renewed during the second half of 2025 have already been sent to Casa da Moeda for issuance and will be delivered by AIMA as quickly as possible.
According to DN Brasil, half of the cards will have already been sent, and the shipments will continue until the first half of April, as most renewal certificates will expire on 15 April.
Residence permits returned to AIMA are available at the AIMA store in Anjos, which will be open on Saturdays to facilitate delivery.
Regarding rejected cases, according to DN Brasil, immigrants will be notified if their initial application was refused.

For people whose renewals have NOT been approved, their right to residence expires April 15 per art.º 63.º, n.º 14 do Decreto Regulamentar n.º 84/2007.
For people whose renewals have been approved but they do not have their card, their Comprovativo de Deferimento document says that their right to residence "Esta declaração tem o mesmo prazo de validade da autorização conferida." (so probably 3 years). The people who really need action are in the 'renewal submitted but not approved yet' category. I suspect there are more than 20,000 of them.

@Esther Lumsdon - I am one of them, I believe there are more than 100,000 of us. Unfortunately, AIMA took our money and put our application aside; they are quick in issuing new renewals (i.e. post July 2025) so they have "statistics" to show quick turnaround in new renewals, while leaving the rest of us in limbo.

AIMA is all about marketing. My wife’s card has come even though I had my appointment before she did and they don’t give you any response whatsoever. AIMA black hole strikes again
