According to the Portuguese Society for Contraception and Family Planning, this should be granted to immigrant women, irrespective of their legal status in the country.
The calls come as Portugal today marks World Contraception Day.
Figures for last year show that 94 percent of sexually active Portuguese women use contraceptives, with the pill the most popular.
Around six percent of teenage girls and eight percent of women aged over 40 said they used no contraceptives.
