According to the country’s National Statistics Institute (INE), June's 2% increase in new housing construction costs represented a fall of 0.4% from the previous month, while 0.6% growth in material prices was slower than the 0.8% increase registered in May.
Labour costs contributed 1.7% to the year-on-year rate of change of the new housing construction costs index and materials contributed 0.3% to the total variation of the index.
The monthly rate of change in the index was 0.3% in June.
In March, the new housing construction costs index increased by 2.3% over the same month in 2018, 0.2% more than in February.
