The Judicial Police, through the Vila Real Local Criminal Investigation Unit, proceeded to identify and detain a man and a woman for the alleged perpetration of a crime of human trafficking.

Over the past two years, the defendants, through threats, have kept the victim, a 36-year-old man, living in inhumane conditions and appropriated the remuneration for his work in agriculture, particularly in the harvesting and pruning nuts, which was paid to them directly by the various employers.

Detainees, aged between 46 and 50, and traders, will be present for judicial interrogation to enforce appropriate enforcement measures.
