The young woman stood motionless in a hole, about 12 meters from the ground, which forced a rescue action by the Portimão Special Fire-fighters Rescue Group, Commander Conceição Duarte, from the Lagos Port Captaincy, told Lusa.
The victim was withdrawn shortly before 14:00 with complaints of pain on the right side of the pelvic area, so she was referred to the Portimão Hospital for a more rigorous assessment, the official said.
The tourist was taking photographs when she slipped off the cliff, known to be a dangerous zone due to the nature of its structure and ground instability.
On site were 16 operational and 5 vehicles, between fire-fighters of Portimão and Lagos and Maritime Authority.
