They are going to be watered only twice a week and not for more than seven minutes. The “Viseu helps to save water” campaign is being put into practice to make the local population and tourists aware of how important it is to reduce water consumption.

One of the city hall’s priorities is to prevent the public water leaks. Now citizens must inform the water department when they detect them. According with the local council the water levels are currently extremely low. Only 20% of the local water reservoir is available and some water deposits in the north of the county are being already supplied by tanker trucks.
