Any party that was interested in buying Novo Banco – the transition bank that remained with the Banco Espirito Santo (BES) assets and liabilities that were not considered to be toxic – had until last Thursday to present their proposals.
The local papers are saying there were six entities that were interested and asked for confidential financial information: about banks BCP, Santander and BPI and the Apollo, Centerbridge and Lonestar funds.
Lusa News Agency has confirmed the information that neither BCP nor Santander presented any proposal.
