The price of diesel, which had already fallen to below a euro at many supermarket fuel retailers during the course of last week, is set to fall by up to a further 4.5 cents a litre.


Unleaded petrol will see a smaller reduction, with the cost per litre set to come down by two cents.


The falling prices have been explained to due instability in the Middle East and a weaker euro against the dollar.
