“Because of the size of the protest, and its route through Lisbon airport, it is likely that traffic will be extremely slow during the day”, the airport manager told reporters.
The protest is scheduled to start in Parque das Nações at 7:00 and then start a slow crawl through the city at 8:30, until they reach parliament.
The sector is anger about the activity on online platforms such as Uber and Cabify that the government has agreed to legalise and regulate.
There are fears that the protest could become violent or destructive and the secretary of state for the sector has been given added security for himself and his family after Facebook pastes threatening him.
