Humberto Pedrosa, the leader of the consortium which owns 61% of the airline’s capital, told the newspaper that “remaining as a minority shareholder or not is going to depend on the conditions”, though he acknowledged that he was “willing to talk”.

He said however, that “there are no conditions for the state to completely reverse the privatisation”, adding that the company has “the chance of having a new shareholder with all the conditions to make TAP into a new company”.

The new Portuguese owner of TAP explained to the Diário Económico that the consortium he owns, along with David Neelman, is “prepared for everything”, underlining that they will assess “all scenarios, including the possibility of resorting to the courts if the agreement is revoked”.
