DECO association is to offer an email address (plasticoamais@deco.pt) to receive pictures and reports of unnecessary use of plastic, with the images then being forwarded to the producers and retailers.
DECO said in a statement that it is to ask those producers and retailers to present solutions to reduce the use of plastic or alternatives.
DECO said it has already shared concerns and this action with the ministry of environment and energy transition and the secretary of state for consumer protection and added that a small act of a consumer can contribute to a company changing their behaviour.
Very good news!
But There's so so much more to be done; how simple it would be for the supermarkets to have a return fee on plastics used to pack goods that we buy like milk, waters... And also the glass bottles. (in the 80s that retour fee existed for the glass bottles, I wonder why it stoped)

All supermarkets in Portugal could suppress all plastic covers from fruits, vegetables, cheese, meat, etc.
For instance CONTINENT, Aldi, Lidl, Pingo Doce, Appolonia........
