CNIPE suggests permanent security agents in schools so that they can serve as a deterrent and mediator of any kind of physical conflict, guaranteeing the safety of the entire school community.
The position of CNIPE comes in the wake of news, "in the last two weeks and almost daily", of acts of violence involving not only students, but also teachers.
However, CNIPE cites old data from the School Security Office of the Ministry of Education, according to which the number of occurrences recorded by school directors decreased from 1,321 in the 2013/2014 school year to 422 in the 2016/2017 school year.
"These data reported by school directors contradict recent news. However, this school year, an online platform was made available for school principals to report, more quickly, acts of bullying in schools".
"It is not enough for the directors to write on the platform. Cases should be mediated and dealt with immediately through disciplinary procedures and with the use of public security forces".
