The project is currently being studied by Portimão council for the issuing of a licence.

According o the petition, the five-storey hotel could take shape in a prime spot in Alvor, alongside the main avenue and riverfront.

Petitioners complain building the hotel would mean lots of dirt and noise and machinery which could potentially damage local tourism and business as well as visitors’ rest.
