Paul Charles tweeted: “Friday update: #Portugal is now in the amber zone as cases rise again. #Italy still green but has gone from 7 to 13 in a week. A clear surge continuing in #Spain and #France.”
Data released by The PC Agency shows that Portugal has moved into the amber zone with 16.4 cases per 100,000 over the past 7 days and 26.3 cases per 100,000 over the past 14 days.
While Covid-19 cases have been rising in Portugal in recent days, the situation appears to be more positive than that in Spain which has registered 110 cases per 100,000 over the past 7 days.
Criteria to be on the safe list of destinations for the UK, to avoid mandatory 14 day quarantine upon return to the UK, includes having an infection rate of less than 20 cases per 100,000 people over 7 days.
Le Portugal va se décridibiliser en faisant passer son économie avant sa préoccupation sanitaire de ses habitants...C'est ce qui se passe actuellement en ouvrant les portes au anglais....cela va être une catastrophe dans les prochains jours!

Absolutely ridiculous you cannot keep changing your mind in this issue people have come to Portugal now it looks like they will have to quarantine everything is so irratic no sense in any of these last minute decisions just think before the air bridge is removed

With such a busy August and now the UK arrivals this was inevitable.

I find it funny how cases all of a sudden started rising quite quickly as soon as the air bridge was opened and british tourist (not Portuguese emigrates) started to arrive. I dont get how people coming over to sun bath is essential travel.

Going to portugal ???????? on Sunday 6th Sept if the air bridge is removed and I don’t go, this will affect my mental health. I regard this trip as Urgently required R&R.
