In a communiqué, the general secretary of the ministry of internal affairs (SGMAI) said they had noticed “the omission of ‘Portugal’ after the address, ‘Lisboa’ and the SGMAI post code”.
The ministry said it had immediately informed the consular offices and contacted the Portuguese post office to take all necessary measures with the postal services in the various countries involved “to ensure the envelopes are sent to Portugal”.
The SGMAI also said that the voting slips “have already started to be returned” even without the full address” and they are following the situation to ensure that the votes from those nationals who live abroad arrive back in due time.
