The president of the Association called on all doctors to reinforce the response of public services to the new virus, asking those outside the National Health Service to help, including retired medics.

Miguel Guimarães said the new coronavirus is an added pressure on the SNS, which has suffered “great disinvestment” in recent years. There are now 30 officially confirmed cases of coronavirus in Portugal
