According to the same note, the decision was made because of the escalation of violence that Saturday resulted in attempts of physical aggression on leaders and other supporters, during the victory in futsal against the Leões de Porto Salvo (6-1), in the Pavilion João Rocha.

Another reason, according to the club, is the systematic failure of these organised groups of supporters to comply with the law, the statutes and regulations of the club, as seen in the fines paid by the club.

Finally, the club stressed that it complied with the protocols and expected the same behaviour of the supporters, who they accuse of systematically failing to support Sporting’s sportspeople, including the main football team.

Sporting therefore decided to terminate the existing protocol with those who knowingly and willfully violated obligations of that protocol, in addition to the statutes and the law of the Portugal.

Sporting ended by calling for state intervention in violence in sports, something that is also appealed to the highest instances in the football world, UEFA and FIFA.
