The 57-year-old man, who became a patient at the hospital following the fire in Vila Nova da Rainha, died on Monday at 3 am, the spokesman said.

Another victim of the same fire, a man, aged 70, is still undergoing treatment at Hospital de Santa Maria and is in a "stable" condition.

A 15-year-old girl is also being treated in Lisbon at the burns unit of Hospital Dona Estefânia, in a "stable" condition, according to hospital source.

Two other men, aged 70 and 51, were taken to Hospital de São Francisco Xavier and they "are stable and are still hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit, where they have been recovering," according to the hospital spokesperson.

The fire broke out at a social club in Vila Nova da Rainha, in the Tondela council area, on 13 January killing eight people that day and injuring 38, according to the Ministry of Health.

A seriously injured man who was taken to Hospital de São João, in Porto, died on 17 January, bringing the death toll to nine, and on Saturday the death toll rose to 10 after a patient undergoing treatment at Hospital da Prelada in Porto also died.
