The four orcas were seen three miles out at sea between Ferragudo and Carvoeiro.

The male, female and two young calves were spotted by several people who had taken dolphin watching boat trips out to sea.

The pod of orcas was later spotted near Sagres and is believed to have come closer to the coastline in search food such as tuna.
