In a statement, the company emphasises that the 100 new positions for the Braga centre will all be based on hybrid working.
“We want Mercedes-Benz.io to be closer to the nerve centres of talent in Portugal, so the opening of the new centre in Braga is in line with our strategy”, said Silvia Bechmann, CEO of Mercedes-Benz.io.
Silvia Bechmann underlines that, given the new work paradigm in this post-pandemic period, the company's strategy is to have "collaborative work spaces, where teams can meet, work together when necessary and, above all, live the Mercedes-Benz.io culture”.
"The new centre in Braga opens in this context, so the vacancies that we have open, as well as those that we will open, are not allocated to a particular space, but to certain skills that we seek in the professionals who will collaborate with us”.
InvestBraga's executive director, Carlos Silva, considers that “the arrival of the Mercedes-Benz.io development centre in Braga reinforces the innovative character of the municipality and its business fabric”.
"It shows that Braga and our region have a great dynamic, by capturing the attention of large multinationals", he stressed.
Mercedes-Benz.io is the subsidiary company of Mercedes-Benz AG for the development of technological marketing and sales solutions.
It is already located in Lisbon and in Berlin and Stuttgart (Germany), and currently has a total of 455 employees.
In Portugal, the company has a team of 245 professionals, and expects to open another hundred vacancies to be filled throughout 2022.
All open positions can be consulted on the company's website.
