According to a ranking of the scientific journal Nature, the Champalimaud Foundation is the fourth best non-profit institution in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in the world.
In a message broadcast on his personal account on the social network Twiiter, António Costa congratulated the Champalimaud Foundation, considering that the distinction "gives prestige to Portugal and honours Portuguese science".
"It shows that investing in scientific knowledge and the development of knowledge through science and innovation is the right way for us to compete with the best on a global scale," he said.
In the same message, the Prime Minister points out that last year "Portugal joined the group of highly innovative countries, according to the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS 2020).
"Another step taken to consolidate this challenging path", he adds.
