Lisbon City Council gradually put into operation, on 1 June
this year, 20 new road safety/speed control radars in the city, which joined
the existing 21.
In six months, more than 230,000 drivers were fined for
speeding. Of these, 213,405 were fined for serious speeding (average fines of
120 euros), 14,639 with very serious fines (average 300 euros), and 2442 for
very serious fines II (average 500 euros).
The total number of fines in the very serious categories was
17,081.
