"EDP confirms that it was the target of a search operation on 6 July with the assistance of the Tax Authority in the context of the sale of a portfolio of six dams to Engie, for alleged tax fraud," the company's official source told Lusa.

EDP added that it "is providing full cooperation with the authorities and remains convinced that the sale operation meets all legal requirements.

SIC Notícias reported that the tax authority and the public prosecutor's office are carrying out searches at the finance and environment ministries and at EDP, as part of the investigations into the dam deal.
