Almost all of Portugal’s river basins recorded increases in the amount of water stored in them in January. Last month, eleven hydrographic basins recorded increases in the amount of water stored, with only the Mondego registering a drop, compared to the previous month, according to data from the National Water Resources Information System (SNIRH). According to the system’s data, of the 60 monitored reservoirs, 25 (eight more than in the previous month) were over 80% full at the end of last month and 12 (two less than in December) were below 40%.
