According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) "according to the information available, this earthquake was felt" in the local area. They added that it was however a low intensity earthquake.
A magnitude two earthquake is the least a person can feel, equivalent to a slight tremor. The Richter scale measures the intensity between one and 10 degrees.
