According to AMN, the victim was a local shellfish gatherer, who was floating south of an unguarded beach.

“After authorisation from the health delegate, the body was removed from the beach and transported to the hospital in Portimão by the Aljezur Volunteer Firefighters,” said a statement, adding that the alert was received at 11:30am.
