“I want and we are going to fight for Chega to be the leader of Government in Portugal and if the others want they will have to unite with us. But we will lead a Government in Portugal”, he said.
Speaking in Braga, André Ventura decided to “raise the bar”, stressing that Chega no longer just wants to be part of a Government coalition, but rather the leader of a Government.
For the 26 September local authorities, he predicted an “overwhelming” result for Chega.
“If for now we have a voice [in the Assembly of the Republic], in 10 or 12 days we will have hundreds or thousands of voices throughout the country. And these hundreds or thousands of voices will be the red card for António Costa and the Socialist Party”, he said.
André Ventura also criticised that PSD president Rui Rio's "preoccupation of the moment" is the transfer of the Constitutional Court to Coimbra, a concern that Ventura considers to be on the same level as that expressed by Deputy Joacine Katar Moreira.
“These are not deputies, these are political puppets who are there to sell themselves. We don't worry about the superfluous”, concluded the leader of Chega, recalling that at this time there are “so many people in Portugal who don't even have the money to put food on the table”.
There sure is a lot of reporting on this Chega party here on theportugalnews.... is this an editorial policy choice?

If it happens, that a right wing party will rise in Portugal. I am going to pull out my companies out of this country. That is bad for Germany and it will be worse for Portugal. You are not strong enough to survive a nationalist party

It is sad that many people still view the rise of nationalism as a bad thing for some people. It is both a good thing and an inevitable thing for the betterment of all nations. Rise of nationalism is not about the division of right wing and left wing, global co-operation or isolationism, it is about the survival of peoples all over. Nations are the natural way for the people of the world to organize and take care of the needs of people on the scale of a nation, modern times have brought on an unhealthy type of globalism that needs to be scaled back and it is only due to delusion that people do not see the peril they are in, that there even exists opposition to the rise of nationalism like the rise of a party like Chega in Portugal.

Show me one place, any place in the world where a nationalist party, left or right, has ever done anything good for its people. There isn’t one.

For the survival of Portugal as an independent, successful and proud country there is no alternative! Either the Portuguese who still love their country recognize its tremendous potential and vote and work hard to drastically change its politics or Portugal will be just another vacation destination for the rich where the native Portuguese will be just a minority and another endangered species!
