The Defense budget will have an allocation this year of 2,450.7 million euros, a value slightly lower than the 2,451.5 million foreseen in the State Budget approved in October. Compared to the amount executed in 2021, there has been a growth of 2.5%.
The war in Ukraine brought to the table the need for an increase in Defense Budgets, namely within the framework of NATO, and several governments, such as the German one, announced an increase to 2% of GDP.
How is this news? €800,000 is chicken feed to the govt, it's a tiny reduction of 0.03% i.e. a thirtieth of one percent. Imagine if you usually spend €300, then it's equivalent to a reduction to €299, not worth reporting on.
