According to Jornal de Negócios this is the group of pensioners who have pensions of up to 509.26 euros, will receive almost two-thirds of the total cost of the measure, that is, 278 million euros of the 422 million that the bonus will cost the State.

The remaining 144 million euros will go to the other pensioners covered by the measure, who will receive, as announced by the Head of Government last Wednesday, an extra 150 euros if they have pensions between 509.26 euros and 1,018.52 and 100 euros if they have pensions between 1,018.52 and 1,527.78 euros.

According to Negócios, the allocation of this extraordinary supplement is related to the good performance of tax revenue, which will be confirmed in the July budget execution, scheduled for publication on the 30th of this month. The issue at hand is the postponement of the annual submission of income by companies, the deadline for which ended on July 15th.

It should be noted that, during the announcement, Luís Montenegro stated that his "wish" would be for these amounts to be able to respond to a "permanent" increase in pensions for the coming years, but that this is not possible at the moment.
