José Amaro, president of the Motoclube de Faro, said that the
festival “was positive, taking into account all the anomalies that occurred” which
derived from the ban on staying in forested areas, within the scope of the
state of contingency declared by the Government.
Cancellation of the event was out of the question because
“it would create many difficulties for [the organisation] to fulfil all the
commitments it had already made” and “it was necessary to take into account the
thousands of people from all over Europe who went to the event in Faro”, said José Amaro.
"But the objectives were met, even with these
restrictions", said the president of Motoclube, revealing that "the
number of participants, within the enclosure itself, was about 35,000 people”.
