The first of two days of the festival, which is organised by
musician Nuno Bettencourt of the North American band Extreme, will include
appearances by Mod Sun, Gabriela and Nicole Scherzinger.
On Saturday, the line-up features performances by Pitbull,
Bush, Girlfriends and Pig Tails.
During the festival, which has already sold out, virtual
concerts by Sting and Queen with Adam Lambert will take place, and the work of
various environmental programs and organisations will be highlighted.
The festival will take place on the shore of Lagoa das Sete
Cidades, in a place known as Cerrado das Freiras, with access mandatory by foot
along a route which takes about 30 minutes to walk.
A concert for earth on a site that is an ecologically fragile one makes oh so much sense...
