I tried booking a flight from toronto to Faro return, but the numbers didnt add up. Then I reversed it, faro to Toronto return, and now I understand. Flights are chepaer if originating in Portugal. Even then, it still cost significantly more than what was mentioned in the article.
Seems like a scam either way. Did the writer actually corroborate pricing before publishing this article?

We booked Air Transat for Toronto to Lisbon, thinking we were getting a slightly better price. Then, a month before flying, they changed all the flights on us due to "operational reasons" and we had to scramble and purchase tickets for TAP flights so we could arrive on the original day and use the hotel room we pre-paid for. I'll never trust Air Transat again. Not worth saving 40 Euros.
