According to a report by Expresso, hundreds of certificates
of residence of foreign citizens are in question, documents issued by the
junta, which contain false address data. This document is a mandatory
requirement for foreign citizens to legalise their stay in the country.
The scheme, which is not new, caught the attention of the
authorities because there are addresses with more than a hundred certificates
issued to them and many of these addresses are garages, shops or offices.
The case has already been reported to the Public Ministry.
SOMETIMES, I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM OF THIS PORTUGAL. AN ADDRESS, WE ALL KNOW IS WHERE YOU CAN RECEIVE YOUR LETTERS OR INFORMATION AND IT DOES NOT NECESSARILY IMPLY A PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE. UNLESS IT SPECIFICALLY WRITTEN YOUR RESIDING ADDRESS. MOST FOREIGNERS DO NOT HAVE PROPERTY IN THE COUNTRY HENCE MOVE FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER IN AVERAGE OF 3MONTHS. SO WHY THIS NOISE WHEN WE HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEM IN UNEMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR LAWS.
