is now officially home to the oldest living person in the world.

According
to the Gerontology Research Group, Mária Branyas Morera, who was born in
America, is the oldest person alive at the age of 115. She now lives in a nursing home in Olot,
Catalonia. Branyas Morera’s youngest daughter, 78-year-old Rosa Moret,
attributed her mother’s longevity to ‘genetics’.
