A regional court in Murcia has ruled that single parents are entitled to 32 weeks of paid leave, equal to the total granted to couples.

This decision, following a constitutional court ruling against discrimination, seeks to ensure support for single-parent families, who are now eligible for tax deductions and additional benefits.
In Spain, single-parent families account for 10 percent of households.
