A source from the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command told Lusa agency that the alert for the accident was given to the authorities at 17:54 and that the victim's death was declared at the scene.

Contacted by Lusa, the mayor of Almodôvar, António Bota, said that the victim was a 46-year-old man, who was part of the Motoclube group from the Alentejo village participating in the carnival parade.

The mayor pointed out that the fall happened after the parade had ended and when the members of this group were still having fun.
