These notices will be in effect until 12:00 today.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) also issued a yellow warning for the districts of Viana do Castelo, Porto, Lisbon, Leiria, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga due to maritime agitation, with waves from the west up to 4 to 4 .5 metres between 12:00 today and 12:00 on Friday.
Due to the maritime agitation, the ports of Caminha, Douro, Esposende, Vila Praia de Ancara, Póvoa do Varzim, Vila do Conde and Portinho da Ericeira are closed to all navigation.
The IPMA also placed the western group of the Azores (Flores and Corvo) and the eastern group (São Miguel and Santa Maria) under a yellow warning because of rain, which can sometimes be heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms until 03:00 on Friday.
