According to idealista, the company is partnering with real estate developers to ensure that new homes have quality communications and smart solutions.
With the recent investments, NOS has managed to double the number of homes on the Alentejo coast that have access to fibre optics, now covering more than 90% of all homes, many of which are new builds. In Porto Covo, Cercal and Sonega, the fibre network will arrive for the first time in the second quarter of this year. The mobile network with 5G technology has also been reinforced in this area.
At an event, the operator brought together several developers who are investing in the region to promote partnerships. “NOS has identified 35 real estate projects underway from Troia to Porto Covo, with which we want to foster a partnership, with a guarantee of fibre optics in the area. Our goal is to have all projects (current and future) mapped out to plan and ensure quality connections for local populations and companies from the very beginning,” explains Diogo Serras Pereira, director of NOS.
The idea also involves encouraging the construction of more homes in the region. “We hope to contribute to improving telecommunications in the area, facilitating the establishment of more ventures and companies in the region,” adds the director of NOS.
The construction of smart homes is also part of the operator’s plan. “We also want to contribute to making new homes on the Alentejo coast more energy efficient, safe and convenient, offering quality solutions such as the NOS Smart Home, which promotes sustainable use in line with the principles of the region and the projects that arise there,” said Diogo Serras Pereira.
Ultimately, the partnership between NOS and real estate developers could help to further grow the Alentejo coastline, which is currently expanding. “We want to be an active part of the digital and technological transformation, empowering local people and companies with resources that promote their development and progress,” said Daniel Beato, director of NOS.
