Considered to be at very high risk are the municipalities of Aljezur, Lagos, Monchique, Portimão, Silves, Loulé, Tavira, São Brás de Alportel and Castro Marim.
The IPMA has also placed around 30 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Beja, Setúbal, Lisbon, Castelo Branco, Guarda, Viseu, Bragança and Vila Real at high risk of rural fire.
The fire hazard, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum.
Calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
The minimum temperatures today will fluctuate between 7 degrees Celsius (in Bragança) and 15 (in Faro) and the maximum between 20 (in Viana do Castelo) and 29 (in Évora, Beja and Santarém).
