Ex-Audi chief Rupert Stadler has admitted to “neglecting” telling business partners that Volkswagen cars were knowingly being sold with illegal software that rigs emissions tests in 2015.

This comes after Stadler agreed to a deal put forth earlier by the district court of Munich for a suspended sentence and a €1.1 million fine in place of 1 to 2.5 years in prison.
