He bought it 10 years ago when the then-owner passed away, and he wanted to avoid opening some unattractive restaurant next to his upmarket restaurant Bonbon.

Nuno has a great passion for food. Many of the chefs in the Algarve, started their careers with him. Bravo!

It is a simple restaurant, with 2 waiters and 2 cooks. At Bonbon, there are 12 cooks....

Here the prices are lower, and the dishes are simpler, and less sophisticated, but still tasty.

It is a popular restaurant, even on a weekday Thursday it is full.

Oregano has Mediterranean cuisine. Jairo is the Chef. Mario is the head waiter, who has been working in Oregano for 3 years. Before he worked in Restaurant Sueste in Ferragudo.

The decor is clean but simple, the tables are set with placemats instead of linen, and there are paper napkins.

Main courses cost between 18 and 29.50 euros.

There is only one vegetarian option on the menu. The service is very nice and friendly!

We started with a delicious Ravioli stuffed with shitake. (13 euros)

As a main course, we have a beetroot red risotto (18 euros), which tastes delicious!

Meanwhile, Bonbon owner Nuno Diogo also comes here to ask if the food tastes good.

We had hoped that the food in this restaurant comes from the same kitchen as Bonbon, but Nuno tells us they are 2 separate kitchens. And you can taste that. Nice food, but nowhere near the level of Bonbon.

And for dessert, a pineapple carpaccio with pink pepper and sorbet ice cream. Yummy!
