French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has claimed to have reached a deal with 75 food manufacturers that would see consumer prices drop by 2 percent to 10 percent as soon as July.

This comes after Le Maire threatened sanctions against food companies as consumer food prices rose by 14 percent last month despite signs of the price of raw commodities, shipping and fuel having dropped.
