The new store is to open on 21 June and will mean that the supermarket will have a total of four stores in the centre of the capital.

There are currently three stores in the city centre (Tivoli Forum, Picoas and Campo de Ourique), the Areeiro store will be the fourth, and Aldi is already preparing to open two more stores by the end of the year (Benfica and Príncipe Real) .

According to João Braz Teixeira, Managing Director of Expansion and Construction at ALDI Portugal, “after the milestone of 130 stores, our goal is to soon reach 150 in Portugal, also consolidating our presence in urban centers. In addition to the store in Areeiro, for this year, we also plan to open two proximity stores in the center of Lisbon, bringing the total to six of these stores and thus doubling our current size in the center of the capital. We are investing in the concept of proximity and in a simple format, focused on the essentials, which allows customers to conveniently and quickly find what they need in their day-to-day lives”.

“In addition to our commitment to the capital, we also want to open the first store in the city of Porto”.
