The inspection operation took place within the scope of the “Cinto-me vivo” (Belt me alive) campaign and had the participation of the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), with 43,833 vehicles having been inspected.
In a statement, the security forces say that 321 drivers and passengers were sensitized, in the sense of using “always an approved child seat [...] and adapted to the height and weight of the child”, seat belt and helmet “of an approved model, properly adjusted it's tight".
“This campaign had […] the participation of the service of the regional administrations of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and the Autonomous Region of Madeira in carrying out awareness-raising actions, completing the inspection work that has been carried out by the Regional Commands of the PSP”, they stress.
As part of the 2023 National Inspection Plan, the campaign was publicized through social media and five ANSR awareness actions.
The actions of ANSR were carried out simultaneously with the inspection operations of the PSP and the GNR, in the locations of Lisbon, Carreço (Viana do Castelo), Porto, Esposende (Braga) and Barreiro (Setúbal).
Actions also took place in the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores.
