According to SAPO news, at its inception the factory had four production lines, today it has a production capacity of 44 million kilos of potato and corn snacks per year. The company currently employs 400 people nationwide.

Inaugurated in May 1993, this space has 736 hectares for the 100% sustainable cultivation of potatoes in Portugal and maintains partnerships with several Portuguese agricultural companies. In 2022, PepsiCo increased the purchase of potatoes from sustainable agricultural crops by 6.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to the banner, in 2021 the production space had already achieved the water reduction objectives that PepsiCo set for 2030, being the only manufacturing unit in southern Europe with this level of consumption.

"It is a great success in PepsiCo's European and global operation and much of this success is due to the teams that work every day to respond to the needs of consumers, always bearing in mind the pillars of sustainability, responsibility, and of course, choices and actions that impact the planet and people in a positive way", says, Nelson Sousa, Plant manager of PepsiCo in Portugal.
