If you find yourself strolling through the charming old centre of Loulé, near the famous covered market, and have a hankering for some delicious pizza, then Luzzo Pizzeria is an absolute must-visit. Tucked away just off the main Avenida, this little pizzeria boasts a warm and inviting interior, as well as a lovely outside seating area where you can enjoy your meal under the open sky.

The moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by a friendly and attentive staff who are more than happy to assist you. One unique aspect of this place is the option to place your order through a convenient tablet on your table, which showcases their modern menu with all the course details and extras you can add to your pizzas.

Luzzo is a family-owned business, run by a father-and-son duo, and it has been delighting customers for the past four years. With multiple locations across Portugal, it's evident that their franchise model has been a success.

The interior of the restaurant is simply stunning. Embracing an urban vibe with earthy tones, it's located in a historic building just a street away from Loulé’s main road. Unlike your average Italian pizzeria, Luzzo offers a unique and refreshing ambiance that sets it apart.

For those who prefer outdoor dining, the cozy terrace tucked away in a quiet alley is a perfect spot to savor your meal. Inside, there are about 10 tables, a spacious bar, and a half-open kitchen that adds to the delightful atmosphere. Oh, and if you're in a hurry, they also offer takeout options.

Their menu, presented on a user-friendly tablet, is a modern touch that lets you order directly without waiting for a waiter's attention. Starting from just 11.45, their pizzas come with a plethora of options, including something you might not find elsewhere - vegan bolognese! While they offer several vegan cheese choices, the absence of vegan ground meat might be a slight disappointment for some.

One of the standout features at Luzzo is the ability to customize your pizza toppings. I personally chose the thin crust with tomato sauce, vegan ground meat, pesto, shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil - an absolutely delectable combination. However, I must admit that customizing can quickly ramp up the cost, with my pizza amounting to 23.50, which felt a bit steep.

The team at Luzzo is comprised of friendly and personable individuals. With a compact staff of 4 in the kitchen and 5 in the service, you can see how they manage to deliver top-notch service.

It's worth mentioning that Luzzo has an interesting history. It first started in Lisbon's Rua de Santa Marta in 2014 and expanded into a franchise just two years later. Today, they boast over 20 restaurants nationwide - an impressive growth story.

No wonder Luzzo Pizzeria is currently holding the top spot on Tripadvisor - it's a well-deserved accolade. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for a memorable dining experience, especially if you're a pizza enthusiast.

Just one tip - if you're looking to keep things budget-friendly, maybe hold back on going overboard with customizing your pizza. Nonetheless, Luzzo is a delightful addition to Loulé’s culinary scene and definitely worth a visit. Bon appétit!
