India is the 4th country to land on the Moon, following the United States, Russia, and China. The landing was made near the Moon’s South Pole, a notably tricky place to land due to uneven terrain, but also where water ice is suspected to be found.
A Small Step, a Big Leap
India’s Vikram lander, part of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, successfully touched down on the Lunar surface at 6:04pm local time.
