According to data from the Bank of Portugal, the funds sent by emigrants fell from 381.22 million euros, in July 2022, to 375.13 million euros, in July this year.

Despite the drop in July, remittances from emigrants in the first seven months of the year, totalling almost 2,355 million euros, remain above the values sent from January to July last year, a period in which emigrants sent 2,267 billion euros.

Conversely, the funds sent by foreigners working in Portugal increased by 14.3%, from 46.67 million euros in July last year to 53.36 million in July this year.

Lusophone immigrants working in Portugal sent 3.8 million euros to their countries, which represents a drop of 9.8% compared to the 3.4 million sent in July last year.
